Since the fall of Napster, finding music over the internet (without the threat of being sued by the music industry) has been touch and go. Radio stations, like Yahoo Radio and Pandora, stream music—but we have no control over what song plays next. We can rip MP3's from YouTube, but that is time consuming.

Vye Music has a different idea. Instead of downloading music files from YouTube individually, users can create a playlist of their favorite songs right on Vye Music's Web site and stream music all day.

To start listening, click any song track on the homepage, or search for a song in the search bar.

Instantly, a player opens at the bottom of the screen and your chosen song starts playing—video included.

Keep browsing the site and selecting songs as the first song plays. Any song you select is then added to your Now Playing list—it will automatically play when the current song finishes.

To enjoy the site's other features, you must use Facebook Connect to create an account. A new icon appears on the left after signing in allowing you to create a savable playlist.

Besides the savable playlist, you can upload your iTunes library for safe keeping.

In the future, Vye Music plans to add social features to the site, such as sharing playlists with friends. For now, the site is still a great way to listen to music while online.

It works with any browser and songs load instantly over a standard broadband connection. While it is not the same as having your own library of downloaded tracks, it is a nice alternative for enjoying our favorite songs.
