Peter Laux, Locomotive Engineman from Australia, "will pay $10,000 (AUS) for a conclusive argument based on empirical facts that increasing atmospheric CO2 from fossil fuel burning drives global climate warming."

See Peter Laux's signed and authorized Statutory Declaration (affidavit) to this effect HERE.

The Statutory Declaration is a legal and binding document: "a false declaration is liable to the penalties of perjury." The authorising witness is Constable Jack Armstrong 37499 of the Victoria Police, Australia.

What would the alarmists say if the U.S. and U.K. were snow-free?

If you answered "the exact same thing," you'd be correct. Not only is there an unholy alliance between headline-seeking journalists and doomsayer scientists, but this column [excerpted below] clearly shows how you can warp and wrap any theory around your own beliefs. George Monbiot is notorious for such mind-bending leaps of logic:

There is now strong evidence to suggest that the unusually cold winters of the last two years in the UK are the result of heating elsewhere. With the help of the severe weather analyst John Mason and the Climate Science Rapid Response Team [CSRRT], I've been through as much of the scientific literature as I can lay hands on (see my website for the references). Here's what seems to be happening.

After three brutal winters in a row, will airlines find a better weather prognosticator?

Another reason UK airlines should stop listening to the Met office's winter predictions and start using Piers Corbyn. At least they'll save a lot of money and customer goodwill:

[via Daily News & Analysis] Europe is currently experiencing the worst winter in 30 years. But there is another side to the travel disruptions that has nothing to do with global warming but more to do with corporate and governmental short-sightedness.

After stomping on Obamacare, Cuccinelli sets his sights on greenhouse gases

He beat back Obamacare, so let's hope Cuccinelli can do the same with the CO2 religion [via Dailypress.com]:

Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli scored a victory last week when a federal judge ruled that people should not be required to buy health insurance.

No doubt Cuccinelli hopes to ride that success into the courtroom when he challenges the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's bid to regulate greenhouse gases.

Cap-And-Trade Tosses An Anchor To Drowning California Economy

California often leads the nation, especially in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The act of leading is one thing, however. Leadership's outcome is another matter entirely.

On Friday, the California Air Resources Board (CARB), the bureaucracy charged with implementing AB 32, the California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006, adopted a cap-and-trade scheme to reduce California's greenhouse gas emissions by about 15% by 2020. CARB's regulations go into effect in 2012.

Panic and fear close their icy tentacles round the doomed Met Office

Well at least that's one heartening interpretation of this press release which the Met Office has just sent to the Global Warming Policy Foundation. It comes from their Chief Press Officer, no less, Dave Britton.

The Met Office has not issued a seasonal forecast to the public and categorically denies forecasting a 'mild winter' as suggested by Boris Johnson <http://www.london.gov.uk/mayor/> in his column in the Daily Telegraph.

Environmentalists' Wild Predictions

Now that another Earth Day has come and gone, let's look at some environmentalist predictions that they would prefer we forget.

At the first Earth Day celebration, in 1969, environmentalist Nigel Calder warned, "The threat of a new ice age must now stand alongside nuclear war as a likely source of wholesale death and misery for mankind." C.C. Wallen of the World Meteorological Organization said, "The cooling since 1940 has been large enough and consistent enough that it will not soon be reversed."

Phony Survey Buttresses Anti-Fox Rants

Clearly there is an organized effort by the Left to discredit Fox News' "hard news" reporting credibility -- most recently on global warming. Last week Media Matters and others criticized the network's Washington managing editor, Bill Sammon, for a memo he sent to his reporters that told them to "refrain from asserting that the planet has warmed (or cooled) in any given period without IMMEDIATELY pointing out that such theories are based upon data that critics have called into question." In other words, telling them to objectively report the facts. The Leftosphere is in a tizzy.

Hype versus reality on Indian climate change

The Cancun global warming and wealth redistribution summit concluded last week, with little to show for two weeks of talking in 5-star hotels and restaurants, other than vague promises that countries will try to do something meaningful about the "threat" of "dangerous" climate change.

Boris sticks his thumb in the wind

Big excitement over Boris Johnson's column today in which the sceptic-turned-warmist turns just a shade more sceptical again by wondering why Piers Corbyn does a better job of forecasting the weather than the Met Office.

I'm not accusing Boris of plagiarism, but this was essentially a watered down, politician's version of a blog I posted nearly a fortnight ago called – The Met Office: Lousier Than A Dead Octopus. (And for an even fuller account of the Met Office's warm bias, read this from the Global Warming Policy Foundation.)

From Politico's Morning Energy, it sounds like the White House is asking those poor, few underfunded dears running the global warming public affairs industry to dig deeper in these upcoming trying times for energy rationing, and give 'em some cover. Bomb the airwaves. Buy those full page ads. Get in real good with anyone left in the political (and don't forget that includes regulatory!) class you might not know!

Climate Change CO2 Corruption Caravan Continues At Cancun, Commercially: You Must Pay For Your Sins

Fraud: wrongful or criminal deception intended to result in financial or personal gain.
Fraud: intentional perversion of truth in order to induce another to part with something of value or to surrender a legal right.

A British Gas advertisement says, "The future of Britain's low carbon energy supply is in safe hands." ExxonMobil's advertisement says "we remove CO2 from natural gas by first freezing, then melting it. The captured CO2 may then be safely stored, so it won't enter the atmosphere, reducing greenhouse gas emissions." How much energy does that take? It means the product costs more and profits increase because the taxpayer subsidizes CO2 injection to increase oil recovery.
