Millions of people across the eastern half of the country are enduring the coldest air of the season thus far with brutal temperatures and wind extending all the way into the South.

Many places have also picked up record snow or the first measurable snow of the season in the last few days.

In an effort to alleviate global warming by storing carbon dioxide underground, we could end up causing earthquakes, said Stanford geophysics professor Mark Zoback Monday morning at the annual meeting of the American Geophysical Union at Moscone Center in San Francisco.

Paper: Warming of Mediterranean Sea began 500 years ago

A peer-reviewed paper published today in the journal Climate of the Past finds that sea surface temperatures in the Mediterranean began to steadily rise 500 years ago after the nadir of the Little Ice Age (LIA), well before change in "greenhouse gases" from the industrial revolution. Adding to the hundreds of other papers from locations around the globe, the paper also finds a Medieval Warming Period and an even hotter Roman Warming Period.

As with the Cornhusker Kickback and the Louisiana Purchase, the majority leader of the Senate seeks to buy votes for a bill, this time the tax-cut compromise with support for ethanol credits for the rich.

With the tax-cut compromise having made it through the Senate, the Democrats have once again reminded us why the voters threw a good portion of the rascals out in 2010. They continue to act as if the populist revolt against tax-and-spend big government never happened.

The climate talks in Cancun outpaced the meager hopes of environmentalists reported John Broder on Saturday: "Negotiators at Global Climate Talks Continue Past the Deadline for an Agreement."

"Climate change is a long-term problem that won't be addressed in one meeting or one agreement," said Robert N. Stavins, director of the environmental economics program at Harvard University and a longtime observer of the United Nations process. "Countries are already taking actions on their own and moving toward international cooperation on these issues. That may be a more productive course than a single, stand-alone, top-down agreement."

It's freezing. Our kids have been lied to their entire lives.

Step outside and ask yourself if billions of your tax dollars were well spent on Global Warming. What if the amount is in the trillions? Generations of American children have grown up being taught the dangers of man-made global warming. On just one day, my twelve year old son heard about global warming in his science class, his Planet Earth video in English class, and in the Green Ideas in his school newspaper. It comes close to being brain-washed.
