A tale of two magnates Posted: 07 Mar 2011 07:03 AM PST This could be made for Hollywood – two media giants, one global crisis.  It's the Murdoch/Turner global warming cage match. In the blue corner, Ted Turner. Founder of CNN, Turner calls himself an environmental activist and likes to let the world know what he thinks about global warming. Turner contributes a lot of cash to Democrats, so it's fair to suggest he lives life on the left.  And he was married to Jane Fonda.  So, yeah. Turner advocates a one-child reproduction policy (he has 5 kids) Turner wants to end coal power and switch to renewables.  Turner owns large interests in renewable energy firms. Turner is one of the largest private land-owners in the US and keeps a herd of 50,000 bison.  Large animals like cows and bison are often blamed by hippies for worsening global warming.
